40% of people above 65 are living in poverty in Hong Kong, although Hong Kong is a wealthy city – you'll also see this in upcoming photos. Even if some sort of social security exists and even if it could be greatly improved, it's interesting to note that many elderly people, among those who are aware of its existence, prefer earning their own living and don't want to be dependent upon that assistance only.
